Minato Launches Overseas Investment Project and Establishes a Subsidiary in Singapore

Please be informed that Minato Management Co., Ltd. (headquartered in 1-1-12 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President (CEO), Tatsuto Kuramoto) has, under a joint investment project with our clients, invested in a fund managed by Alpha JWC Ventures (Co-Founders & Managing Partners: Chandra Tjan and Jefrey Joe; hereinafter referred to as “Alpha JWC”). Alpha JWC is an Indonesia-based venture capital fund manager that has operated since 2015 primarily in Southeast Asia. Alpha JWC’s first fund (total amount: approximately 50 million U.S. dollars) has performed successfully, having invested in 23 start-ups and already have achieved three exits. The second fund, in which our company under a joint investment project has invested in, has approximately 100 million U.S. dollars under management.

Rapid growth in Southeast Asian economies has given birth to a variety of new businesses and technology-oriented venture companies. In these circumstances, our company under the joint investment project has decided to partner with Alpha JWC in an attempt to increase investment opportunities for domestic and overseas clients and to create an appropriate investment environment in light of supporting financial infrastructure.

Furthermore, in line with this investment project, our company has established a Singapore subsidiary, Minato Management Singapore Pte. Ltd. The subsidiary is intended to serve as a local platform allowing our company to invest under the umbrella of the joint investment project together with our clients.

Starting with this latest project, Minato Management intends to make its own investments in a variety of countries and investment assets, while at the same time seeking to create investment opportunities for investors inside and outside Japan.
